    Bauer Fiber Classifier

The Bauer Fiber Classifier is a 5-stage screening instrument for determining fiber length distribution of pulp. It operates by passing a pulp slurry through a series of screens with decreasing mesh sizes under controlled water flow and constant stirring. Fibers retained on each screen are dried and weighed, yielding a weight percentage for each length class. The instrument meets GB/T 2678.1, TAPPI T233, and SCAN M6 standards, supporting 10 g sample, 15 min screening, and 10 L/min flow. Built from 304 stainless steel, it offers precise speed regulation and adjustable flow, making it an essentia...

Product Introduction
The Bauer fiber classifier (also known as Bauer-McNett Classifier) is a standard laboratory device for measuring fiber length distribution in pulp. The 5-stage cascade design uses screens of 14, 28, 48, and 100 mesh (Tyler) as standard, dividing fibers into five length fractions. Under the prescribed water flow and mechanical stirring, shorter fibers pass through the screens while longer ones are retained, enabling accurate weight-based analysis. The unit fully complies with GB/T 2678.1-1993, TAPPI T233 cm-95, and Scandinavian SCAN M6 methods, ensuring globally recognized results.

Key Features
Multi-standard Compliance: Conforms to GB/T 2678.1, TAPPI T233, and SCAN M6, ensuring results are widely accepted for pulp evaluation and quality reporting.
5-stage Precision Screening: Standard configuration with 14, 28, 48, and 100 mesh screens delivers five fractions, accurately characterizing long, medium, and short fiber distributions.
Accurate Flow Control: Water flow adjustable from 0 to 20 L/min with 0.5% reading accuracy, combined with a stirrer speed of 580±1 rpm for excellent repeatability.
Flexible Screen Options: Supports Tyler mesh sizes from 10 to 150 to suit long, medium, and short fiber types; quick-change screens adapt to different pulp grades.
Durable Stainless Steel Build: All contact parts, piping, and frame are 304 stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and easy to clean.
User-Friendly Operation: Screening time programmable up to 9999 minutes, equipped with emergency stop and moisture-proof electrics. Adjustable leveling feet ensure stable, low-noise running.

FAQ
1. Inaccurate results or poor repeatability
Clogged screens, overly high stock concentration, or fluctuating water pressure. Keep pulp concentration within the standard range, clean screens thoroughly after each test, and stabilize supply pressure.
2. Screen blinding and plugging
Fiber flocs or debris. Pre-disintegrate the sample and remove impurities. After testing, gently brush screens with a soft brush and rinse with clean water.
3. Excessive vibration or noise
Uneven floor contact, shaft eccentricity, or worn bearings. Level the frame, tighten all fasteners, and lubricate bearings regularly.
4. Water leakage or cross-contamination
Screens not seated flat, deteriorated gasket, or loose clamp ring. Ensure screens are horizontally placed, tighten the clamp ring diagonally, and replace aged sealing gaskets.
5. Slow drainage or water accumulation
Blocked drain pipe or undersized piping. Clear drain lines regularly and keep the outlet below the unit level.
6. Motor does not start or trips
Emergency stop engaged, phase loss, or damp wiring. Reset the emergency stop, verify three-phase power, and keep the terminal box dry.
7. Total recovered weight does not match original
Residual fiber on chamber walls or filter bags not oven-dried to constant weight. Rinse walls to recover all fibers and dry filter bags to constant weight before weighing.
